Well, it took us a little longer to get everything together, but I would like to invite everyone to the first FamilyHistoryLive.com Hispanic genealogy conference. I'm excited to try this newer technology to see if we can reach a wider audience. Please join us...it will be a learning experience for all. Here are some of the details...did I mention that it's free?
When: 12 Jan 2007 10am to 2pm (Mountain Standard Time)
Where: Any computer with internet connection. You will need to download a viewer, which can be done by going to http://www.familyhistoryliveonline.com and clicking on the download viewer option located in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. The link will actually download a PDF file with instructions on it. The PDF file will also have the link where you will download the viewer. If you have questions about downloading the viewer and how the conference will work you can visit the site Sunday (Jan 6) at 7pm and Jonathan Walker will help you out. You can also contact Jonathan via email at: email@example.com
What: At least 6 classes will be offered on Hispanic genealogy research topics. I will be teaching: a) El Censo-guia de Archivos - b) Registros de Inmigracion de Espana - and possibly c) FamilySearch Indexing en Espanol (may be taught by someone else). Other classes will inlcude basic Hispanic research classes (visit website for more information).
For more details please visit the Familyhistoryliveonline.com website. They tell me that the Spanish page will be translated by the end of this week, and all the details on the conference will be available. Hopefully all will be able to attend...remember the more that participate the more likely there will be similar conferences and/or classes on the same topic.
If you have any questions let me know by posting comments at the end of this post, or email Jonathan. Please tell others about the conference...all are welcome to participate!!
